Could the pygame package be set so that the default mixer setting is
something more sane, such as what Lauri has suggested?

After installing pygame through from the Ubuntu Karmic repositories, I
can not find any trace of the examples that are supposed to come with
pygame. Much of the documentation and online tutorials refer to these
examples. It would be nice

In pavucontrol, volume meter shows 100% even when volume level is
lowered to around 90%
Steps to reproduce:
1. Generate a tone at 100% amplitude. I used audacity to create this tone. (I
can upload the test tone I used if that helps.)
