Well to follow my last post:
I downloaded 0.9995-1 from
http://mirrors.kernel.org/ubuntu/pool/universe/libo/libodbc-ruby
/libodbc-ruby1.8_0.9995-1_amd64.deb
Install it on my server and it magically works.

On Ubuntu 9.10 (x64) I could not solve this with rolling back on
0.9995. I really want to upgrade servers on Ubuntu 9.10.

This bug happened to me when i quit Transmission, after it was up for a long
time (approx. 32 hours).
I havent managed to reproduce it, after quitting it again for a few times it
closed properly.
