The file works fine for me, please consider adding this for karmic.
Having encrypted homedirs work without having to mess with PAM
configuration (which may break login after all) is really nifty!

I am using that since hoary to setup several crypted partitions (one
with a key I have to type in, several others with keys from that first
encrypted partition and some with random keys). Works well for me... and

cryptsetup in ubuntu does still support the old way, so I do not see
why it should fail to mount debian/sarge partitions. Maybe the key
sizes/hash algorithmns do not match?
