I've tried today, with the latest karmic updates, and the result is
still the same, grub2 hangs. All I get is a screen with ",

doesn't play flash videos in Firefox, neither Firefox 3.5.2 nor previous

Oh, yes, it was not a package putting objects on /usr/lib64 rather than
/usr/lib on amd64 it was just that I had "/usr/lib64/xorg/modules" on
ModulePath on xorg.conf. I don't know how that went in there and as I
can't really track back the changes to that file I'll close this.

Just to add to this (I think someone already mentioned), this happened
to me with 177, 180 and 180.25 from jaunty. Reverting to 173 stopped the
