Here is a workaround: In /etc/privoxy/config change the line
listen-address localhost:8118

Thanks for reminding me. The any device has indeed returned. I can't
tell when it happened but it's definitely available and working in

Virtual capture interface "any"
Added my bug report #321698 as a duplicate too. I can reproduce this on
today's daily live cd of Jaunty Jackalope,
There are a couple of unresolved upstream bugs and duplicates too.

Wireshark in Intrepid and before used to have the very useful virtual capture

Somehow in Jaunty it is no longer there. Is there a way to get it back?

You are right, it does work!
# nmap localhost -p6522 | grep open

Man, I was blindly trusting netstat/lsof, guess I've learned something
today.
Thanks for fixing it anyway, it might save someone from the same
confusion.

Wow, that was lightning fast, thank you for the fix!
The workaround looked promising but bindv6only=0 is the default here too.
Changing it made no difference for gobby/vino:
# sysctl net.ipv6.bindv6only=0
net.ipv6.bindv6only = 0
# sysctl net.ipv6.bindv6only=1
net.ipv6.bindv6only = 1

change the interface it binds to.

Yep, confirming for Jaunty Alpha2 and pulseaudio 0.9.13-2ubuntu3.
I get garbled sound and buffer underruns with
mplayer -ao openal /usr/lib/openoffice/share/gallery/sounds/space2.wav
It works fine though after killing pulseaudio (pulseaudio -k).
