As reported, Freeplayer isn't able to work with VLC 0.9.x (Intrepid and
newer release of Ubuntu).
As described on Ubuntu-fr.org (http://doc.ubuntu-fr.org/freeplayer), the
workaround is :
Edit the file : '/usr/bin/vlc-fbx'.
Delete "–wx-systray" from the file
Replace : –config="~/

I think the status could be changed to "fix commited" or "fix released"... but
don't want to do any mistake.
I know that's Jaunty's release is not so far, but it could be a good

Using Intrepid, I've got exactly the same problem with a multifunction printer
& scan HP C5280.
Notice that I'm using a laptop (Dell studio 17) with an integrated webcam.
XSane works without anuy problem.
gnomescan: 0.4.1-0ubuntu4
:~$ scanimage -L
device `v4l:/dev/video0' is a Noname Lapto
This bug was corrected for me, on 2009/01/21, with the update of
libv4l-0 (0.5.7-1~intrepid1 from intrepid-updates repository) .
All works perfectly now :-)

I'm on a fresh install of Intrepid Ubuntu on a Dell Studio 17, with an
intregrated webcam.

2) I'm using qtpfsgui :1.9.1-1build1
3-4) There's no icon menu for qtpfsgui (in the aplications menu).
