I just got this on Jaunty, but the last time I enabled Pidgin-Encryption was with Feisty, back in the Gaim days. I checked the three files responsible, and they had 644 permissions for some reason. This caused Pidgin-Encryption to popup a notification for each entry in each file, over 10 in my case, complaining about permissions.
It's reasonable to refuse to operate in this situation, but a torrent of notifications is not helpful. Pidgin-Encryption should check the permissions of the three files first, and then provide a single dialog offering to remove 'group' and 'other' permissions if this is required. ** Changed in: pidgin-encryption (Ubuntu) Status: New => Triaged -- pidgin complains about id id.priv and known_keys file permissions https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/152835 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-b...@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs -- universe-bugs mailing list universe-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/universe-bugs
