Yes, it still seems to be a problem. I created a CMakeLists.txt file
with the same code I originally posted in my first bug report
(included in this email as well). Here was the output:

We were wondering if this was still an issue with a more recent version of
Ubuntu. Ubuntu 7.10 the Gutsy Gibbon has reached the end of its supported
life, so no more fixes will be provided for it.
