Hi, I can confirm that its not working under karmic, I got the same
message, I cannot go with the workaround by modifying those 2 files
because I dont have python 2.5 installed, I have python version 2.6, I
hope somebody can have a fix for this one, Thanks!

I just, reinstalled by synaptic and it just works fine synaptic
additionaly installed this files: python-feedparser python-utidylib.

Could you please test this on Karmic? Please note package in Karmic is
compatible with a newer python-support version than the one in Jaunty,
so it won't work out of the box if you install package from Karmic on a
Jaunty box.

Hi all
I have Ubuntu 9.04 and I solved this problem modifying the 2 python scripts
cgmail and cgmailservice at first row:
from #!/usr/bin/python to #!/usr/bin/python2.5 (I have python2.5 and python 2.6
installed on my machine). I don't know if it's the right way, but it works

I can confirm this issue also occurs on a new installation of Jaunty
with cGmail 0.5 installed.
Installation of python 2.5 (the python2.5 package) and changing cGmail
to use python2.5 - by changing the first line of the /usr/bin/cgmail and
/usr/bin/cgmailservice scripts allows cGmail to start.

I confirm this bug. On Ubuntu 9.04 upgraded from 8.10. cgmail version is
0.5
