The Gramps version in Jaunty doesn't use the old format. What version
of Gramps are you using? See 'Help > About'

I'm running gramps on jaunty on an asus eee netbook.
With certain databases, the data is not saved on Quit. However, I can
successfully Export to a new database. I have not fully understood why
some databases "work" and others do not, but it seems to be associated
with whether the database contain
