i've already upgraded to the latest ubuntu (9.04) with the latest
updates, including an update for compiz (the the intel driver i
believe?), and the problem's still there.

i've just updated my Ubuntu 8.10 to the latest updates, and restarted my
computer.. but unfortunately the problem wasn't resolved. I'm glad i was
able to help :)

In the meantime it would be helpful if
i didn't know whether i should use sudo -i command before the lspci
-vvnn, so i did both, since i saw "Capabilities: ".. this
one i did without the sudo -i command. if u need anything else let me

here's the screenshot u asked for, i "deleted" the two file names with
gimp, the rest as u can see is the problem.. it goes black, kinda.. i
