This was eventually fixed with a Kubuntu updated. I've been using this
application now for a while.

Actually, if you install kvpnc from their homesite (version 0.9.1), the
disconnect works perfectly ...

The same problem here. KVpnc hangs up when trying to disconnect from PPTP VPN
and repeating message:
debug: "pppd" is still running waiting for terminate...
