Where did you find a package named vmwaretools? Could you please post the content of your /etc/apt/sources.list file? In any case, you cannot (should not) have both vmwaretools and open-vm-tools, they will clearly conflict with each other as you seem to be experiencing. ** Changed in: open-vm-
