This is by far the best version of snes9x out for Linux, so this needs
packaging badly, imo.
Also, I didn't want to open a new bug for this, but I will if it's not
the right place to put this -- currently, the PPA package doesn't
recognize .jma files. JMA files are compressed SNES roms compressed

We still need to wait for the last issue in my previous comment to be
resolved. I'll see if I can get Nach to do something about it soon. :)

Just a quick update: I just got a response from Nach, a Snes9x
developer, stating that a license exception for the Snes9x core will be
added.
Also, thanks Brandon for your changes as well, it's much appreciated.
We're so close to having this in the archives! Feature freeze for Jaunty

Hi Jacob,
I've added a license exception note to the port/patch, as well as
relicensing under a more liberal license. If you need anything else, let
me know.

The current packages in the PPA have several lintian errors - while not
noticeable, they are required to be fixed to be in the archives unless
there are good exceptions. Anyway, I'm going to have a stab at packaging
this tonight - Brandon, if you want to take over the packaging, let me
I'm going to contact Brandon to see if he wants to do this, otherwise I
will. ZSNES won't run on amd64. :P

No, we can't do that. All packages need to go through the standard
reviewing procedure at REVU ( http://revu.ubuntuwire.com/ ), and someone
needs to take charge and perform the modifications asked for by the
MOTUs. Given that the package is already in an PPA, that process might
be painless
I don't know how far Ubuntu/Launchpad/Bazaar integration goes this days,
but maybe Brandon Wrights PPA can be synced directly into the official
Ubuntu repos...
