Public bug reported: Binary package hint: lyx
Low Importance Regression / Feature Request Ubuntu 8.10 Lyx 1.6.1 Lyx stores *.png icons for toolbars and dialogs in /usr/share/lyx/images. These icons can be overridden by placing new icons in ~/.lyx/images (or directly replacing the ones in /usr/share/lyx/images). Changing Lyx's appearance to match the rest of the desktop is important to me since the default icons are, I'm sorry, quite unbearably ugly. For some reason, the icons on the math panels, the icons on the TOC sidebar, and the banner.png start splash cannot be replaced. Even after deleting the image files, they keep being displayed. The .png files are completely ignored, it seems as if they are somehow hardcoded into an executable, or are stored in a mysterious location that I am unable to find (although the .deb package clearly says that there are no icon files stored elsewhere). This is a regression from the Lyx version of Hardy Heron, where all *.xpm images could be replaced correctly (the regression might be connected to the switch from .xpm to .png images). If they are linked into an executable or library, please fix this. 1) Where are these images stored? 2) How can they be replaced? Any help is greatly appreciated. ** Affects: lyx (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- Lyx 1.6.1 icon replacement strangeness https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/334108 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-b...@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs -- universe-bugs mailing list universe-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/universe-bugs
