Okay, we're getting a bit too much me-too'ing on this bug. Note that
one person's freeze is almost indistinguishable from another's, but
often caused by very different underlying problems.

I have the same problem with 2.6.28. The old 2.6.27 kernels work well. I
only use kernels shipped by Ubuntu.
With 2.6.28 the display hangs at about 10 minutes after startup (+-5).
The mouse pointer moves, but the mouse buttons and the keyboard do not
work. The display is freezed, clock does not
For me the freeze was using exa, which was enabled by default (jaunty).
After enabling uxa in xorg.conf explicitly, the problem disappeared. (Just the
opposite as described by others above, maybe because of the other chipset.)

I just noticed that I get this freeze mostly when I use the keyboard
shortcut to start krunner, but sometimes in other places also. I doubt if
this will be of any help though !!!
