This patch was rejected upstream in favour for a fix in metacity, but really in
metacity it works, it's only in compiz that doesn't.
If we need to switch to empathy by default, fixing this problem is a priority

** Attachment added: "taskbar.patch"
   http://launchpadlibrarian.net/27757038/taskbar.patch

** Also affects: compiz (Ubuntu)
   Importance: Undecided
       Status: New

** Summary changed:

- the tasklist is hidden when the contact list is respawned
+ Empathy tasklist entry can't be restored

** Description changed:

- Binary package hint: empathy
+ Binary package hint: compiz, empathy

  Step to reproduce:
  - open empathy
  - click on the X to close the window
  - make the window respawn by clicking on the status icon
- - check that the taskbar entry of the main empathy window is gone.
+ - note that the taskbar entry of the main empathy window is gone.

- currently this happens only when compiz is active and not when metacity is.
- I have a workaroud for empathy, but this currently belongs to compiz, so I
will add it too.
