mess of a a package.

Meanwhile, I can also confirm I had the same problem with this package as well.
This also clearly points out one of the few deficiencies with APT. It should
just "move on" when i

I actually figured out the same thing awhile ago. I was successfully
able to remove arson after that as well. Even though there is this
workaround I still would like to be able to use arson as I use it to rip
CDs and other various tasks.

I worked around this bug by doing the following:
# cp /usr/share/icons/hicolor/index.theme /usr/share/icons/locolor
# apt-get -y remove arson
# rm /usr/share/icons/locolor/index.theme
Now I can successfully "apt-get dist-upgrade" again. Before it was always
failing because I had done an "apt-get

Tom Halser emailed me personally on this. I suspect that this needs to have
dh_iconcache changed to create iconc caches if they don't exist yet.
