Thanks for letting us know the issue is resolved in karmic.
It sounds like an ugly problem, but perhaps not severe enough to warrant SRUing
to Jaunty (the driver in Jaunty is rather fragile and I'm reluctant to make
changes to it unless it's an extremely critical problem).
