The master branch of upstream's code doesn't support 2.6.30. It would
be possible to add a conditional patch for 2.6.30 to make it build
there, but that's work which I feel is unnecessary. Karmic will ship
with (at least) a 2.6.31 kernel, and these kernels have been in the

The problem is that it's trying to build against your 2.6.30 kernel;
this will (and does) fail. The package will build successfully on a
current Karmic 2.6.31 kernel.
