As a workaround, you should be able to disable os-prober with
GRUB_DISABLE_OS_PROBER=true in /etc/default/grub and add those menu
entries manually to /etc/grub.d/40_custom for now. (Not tested myself.)

I think this "bug" should have more priority.
Most notebook they have a recovery partition to recover to factory settings.
grub2 takes the menuentry with nearly same name Name in grub.cfg
-> "Windows Vista (/dev/sda1) -> This one boots Windows
-> "Windows Vista (/dev/sda2) -> This boots the rec
/etc/default/grub is not particularly accessible to inexperienced users,
either.
I think it's more likely that this will be solved by the development of
something with a proper user interface capable of working with grub2,
and its developers working with us to determine exactly what they need.

Well, I dont see to my mum doing a script for change the menuentry. This
should be provide for default or with easy way for medium-users. If the
user needs create a custom script for change a simple title, the user
dont get a good experience with Ubuntu.
