I think this is just incorrect usage of modprobe, see --help output, it only accepts one module at a time and interprets the following pieces as module-options: $ modprobe -h Usage: modprobe [-v] [-V] [-C config-file] [-d dirname ] [-n] [-i] [-q] [-b] [-o modname] [ --dump-modversions ] modname
