1) I used sudo aptitude update and then sudo aptitude safe-upgrade.
Brasero and libbrasero were not upgraded.
2) I expected an upgrade.
3) I encountered a conflict with nautilus-cd-burner. I removed it, and
then installed using dpkg brasero and libbrasero.

fail2ban doesn't read /etc/fail2ban.conf at all. The default
fail2ban.conf only configures loglevel, logtarget and the socket path,
so if you don't read the manual how to configure the jails (in
fail2ban.jail) then I'm not sure how it can be a bug.

I tried installing from your PPA xserver-xorg-input-evtouch based on
xf86-input-evtouch - 0.8.8-0ubuntu2+thjaeger1 but the same problem
occurs. While calibration (and also during normal use) the min/max/x/y
numbers printed on screen don't change when tapping/moving the stylus

The dpkg -L fail2ban gives me /etc/fail2ban.conf on Ubuntu 8.04.1.
If a configuration file is shipped with a package but not used by that
package, then it's a bug. fail2ban.jail doesn't exist on my system,
/etc/fail2ban/jail.conf does. It can list all sorts of information, but
that's worthless if

This is still a problem under the latest intrepid, and I'm fairly sure I've
seen the exact same behavior on my Jaunty machine as well.
