Please note also that this conflict appears on the initial installation
of ubuntu (in my case, using the alternate install CD on a ps3).
Proposed debdiff looks good (thanks Philippe), two conflicting packages
in the same meta package are obviously wrong.

To answer to your questions.
1) I used sudo aptitude update and then sudo aptitude safe-upgrade.
Brasero and libbrasero were not upgraded.
2) I expected an upgrade.
3) I encountered a conflict with nautilus-cd-burner. I removed it, and
then installed using dpkg brasero and libbrasero.

libbrasero-media0 version 2.26.0-0ubuntu1 Conflicts with nautilus-cd-

I am going to confirm this report and change the package to meta-gnome2,
which includes gnome-desktop-environment. My opinion is that g-d-e
should be updated to recommend brasero.
