I've tried installing 6.0 previously and things never seem to work
either, so I went back to 5.4. Now I got a SB2, I tried installing 6.1
again. I try:
/etc/rc.d/init.d/slimserver start
/etc/rc.d/init.d/slimserver status
my results are:
slimserver.pl is stopped
I then tried:
/usr/local/slimserv
Michael,
We've been longing for somebody to take a crack at the deb package.
That would be great!

I'm trying to write a program that talks to SlimServer through the
command line interface. While I'm following documentations to
familiarise myself with the commands, I noticed that if I pass an "id"
tag to the "playlists" command, the server will crash, e.g.

Why do you need two IP addresses to get your server to be fileserver and
slimserver? If you have a proper DNS server, you just need to add a
cname of slimserver for the existing ip. If you're relying on hosts
files, you can just add two entries for the ip. Or am I missing
something? ;-)

After searching and reading forum entries on the subject, I installed
the following on my new Debian Sarge box:
1. The 6.1 RPM, into /usr/local/slimserver;
2. The DebianStartupScript3, as instructed by its' INSTALLATION
document (other than pulling the latest code using svn).
After a few permis
Howdy.
I have 3 Squeezeboxen that have worked well for quite some time now. Of
course I had to go and mess with them.
I am running SlimServer 6.0.1 on Linux. I have looked at the changelogs
for the newer versions, and do not see my issues in the lists.
It started on a bored evening. I'm running
I am running on SuSE 9.1. But I have 2 GB of memory. I think you need
more. It is probably swapping stuff when you see the delay. The only
delay I see is about 3 seconds when I first access browse by artist.
I have a HUGE library with over 18000 tracks, and the 6.1 server works
like a charm. I am
I nave no problems with errors, I was just passing on the information I
had. Dan Sully said that the previous Nightly didn't have the problem,
I was just saying it has. Also passing on that the scan library only
found half my files when before it found them all.

OK, now I am not a happy camper.
Removed 04/08 Nightly, removed the slimserversql.db and the prefs
files.
Installed the 02/08 Nightly and now when SS comes to scan the library
it on find about 1000 of the 2500 tracks?
It was fine before, anyone any ideas on to what is going on?

Hi,
Just installed the 04/08 nightly and the same thing happens, SS barfs
with:
"Can't call method "namesort" on an undefined value at
/mnt/slimserver/Slim/DataStores/DBI/DBIStore.pm line 1502, line
10"
Also, there is still a thin line running along the bottom of the VFD
when you push right fr

Here in Sydney they seem to be impossible to find.
