Hey,
I'm running slimserver as user nobody, group wheel as I've always done.
I've confirmed all permissions are correct and adequate, etc. I get
the same error if I run the whole thing as root, so I don't think its a
permission problem.
Cheers,
Daniel

Ok, so I deleted the entire CPAN/ tree from /usr/local/slimserver and
then went through the process of trying to start slimserver.pl, getting
an error due to a missing perl module, installing that module with cpan
(to my /usr/local/lib/perl5). After repeating this a guzzilion times,
I got all the

Hi everyone,
I'm a proud owner of a Transporter and as a result I've been regularly
upgrading to the latest nightly builds of 6.5.1 in order to see if the
big knob performs better. The knob had various known problems in 6.5.0
and SD support suggested I get onto the nightly builds and see if thin

SlimServer needs 24 hours to scan my library.
mt-daapd, written in C, takes 10 minutes.
(same library, same machine even)
Now you could say that either Perl ist much slower than C - that at
least sounds better than saying that SlimServer was just coded very
inefficiently.

Of course, if you wouldn't be so f... arrogant and actually read what I

I use NSLU2 as NAS for my music files. There are probably a number of
ways to do this but this is what I did:
