Upgrade worked fine for me. I had to manually restart SlimServer
afterwards to get the new version though.

Upgrades should work fine.
BTW, I'm not sure, but I think the note about uninstalling first is
intended to apply only to people running the older SLIMP3 server.

I assume that because there are no architecture changes from 6.50 to
6.5.1 that it's OK to just do an upgrade instead of a clean install:
rpm -Uvh slimserver_v6.5.1.noarch.rpm
is this correct?
(The download page recommends Linux users do an uninstall first)

I tried this with a Debian Unstable, but it was too unstable, then
reinstalled to Debian Testing, since it wasn't possible to downgrade
with apt pinning. In the end I gave up and went for Ubuntu with the
slimdevices testing main URL in the apt/sources.list. But there are

You may want to upgrade to the latest version at
http://debian.slimdevices.com stable main. The version of slimserver
in Ubuntu universe is quite old.
