Yes. At least that's what happens on SUSE. :-) The RPM is actually saving the slimserver init script into /etc/rc.d/init.d. SUSE softlinks /etc/rc.d to /etc/init.d for compatibility with older scripts that still use "rc.d" paths. Anyhow, you can ignore that directory, as all it contains is
