Michael,
I noticed that the SlimCD page on your site states that SlimCD has been
downloaded more than 11,000 times in the past two years. That is quite
impressive!

Scotsghost,
Thank you very much for the suggestions - greatly appreciated.
I was wondering about the ipv6 stuff and wondering myself if it could
be involved, but I had not figured out yet how to turn it off.
I will try turning off ipv6, modifying the host file, and then as a
last resort try JRE
You can't buy fsg3 anymore - for the same money there are better NASs
available now.
SS 6.5.x does not run very well on NSLU2 - is there a reason for 6.5.x
rather than using 6.3.1 ?
If you wish to continue installing 6.5.1. For the record - list all
installed packages using "ipkg list-instal
I think ffmpeg only works with files and not streams. You should use
mplayer instead but it needs different commands in the conf files.

Hello,
I'm having problems getting SlimServer to scan my music folder on
MEPISLite. I'm pretty sure the directory is correct (it would say
otherwise if it weren't, I've checked), and I've tried multiple
locations on both an IDE and USB drive. At first, I tried connecting my
existing music disk (N
Good ideas but unfortunately no dice. I get the same problems on both
the groovesalad link and the BBC streams, even with the timeout
increased.

Hi,
I have two Zlib files, one in
/opt/lib/perl5/site_perl/5.8.8/armv5b-linux/Compress/Zlib.pm
and one in opt/share/ss65/CPAN/Compress/Zlib.pm.
When I found "your" file I recognized that there were no permissions to
execute so I changed permissions-and I thougt that Zlib was loaded and
slimserver.
The BBC WMA stations can take a very long time to connect - so increate
the timeout (Server Setting/Network/Radio timeout I think) to
something like 45 secs.
However, have you made sure that ffmpeg change works with a known good
local WMA station.
In the US try a somafm station such as

I tried to play both BBC World Service, and Air America, under Slim
Picks / Genre / News & Talk. I get the following ffmpeg errors in
/var/log/slimserver/slimserver.log.

Ron,
I've just installed Ubuntu 7.04 on my server as well but haven't quite
gotten SlimServer back up on the box. Your problem smells like a
network issue, assuming your JRE is functioning properly. If none of
the below helps, maybe try a 1.5.x JRE?
I had a lot of network trouble with Fiesty o
/var/cache/slimserver seems to have the proper permissions:
Code:

drwxr-xr-x 8 root root264 2007-07-08 18:29 ..
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root

/var/cache/slimserver ?
