Hi Bruce,
Allow me to introduce you to Amarok. I don't know if it is as ideal for
fetching album covers as what you were using under Windows, particularly
if you were using a tool dedicated for that purpose, but it does fetch
album covers from Amazon, and does a great job for me.

mp3tag works great, I just tried it. The OP should use this page as a
reference to installing wine: http://www.winehq.org/site/download-deb
Once installed, just download the mp3

EAC works perfectly under Ubunty Gutsy (using wine,) so you could just
keep using what you have grown accustomed to using. It is at least an
option.

VFAT is used because the drive has to be useable with Winblows. At any
rate it is almost impossible to reformat it... I don't have 1TB of free
