Assuming you are using the deb packages via apt-get, I would remove
slimserver and then install squeezecenter. First it's worth taking the
precaution of backing up things such as favourites, mypicks opml,
exporting your TrackStat data (if you use that plugin), etc so that you

I am planning to upgrade to Slimcenter 7.0 on my Ubuntu server. What
would be the best approach to take to reduce possible conficts (while
maintaining as much current config as possible)? If I simply run
apt-get upgrade will this do the trick or should I delete the current

The problem with your plan is that whenever you are playing a game or
movie on the ps3, no one else could listen to music.
Are you sure you want that?

Hi, I've searched the forum for ps3 and playstation but nothing "easy"
pops up in the results.
Has anyone succeeded installing squeezecenter on a PS3?

I just upgraded to 7.0 stable on my Ubuntu 7.10 x86_64 system.
Everything went well but I restarted several times because I was moving
over server.prefs, custom-convert.conf and IRBlaster .conf files from my
"testing" 7.0 machine.
In between restarts "localhost:9000" was working for a while but
Yeah, this is wrong. I also reported this in the announcement thread,
but it hasn't been fixed yet.

Hi.
Is anyone able to check the yum repo, and make sure the new
SqueezeCenter is available in the 'release' directory? It looks like
squeezecenter-7.0-1.noarch.rpm has been placed in the 'branch'
directory instead.
Thanks
Nick

The RPM and deb packages use the mysqld from your Linux distro.

I've been using the 7.0 beta installed via apt-get from the testing
repo. To get the released 7.0 to install I updated my sources.list to
include stable main rather than testing then used:
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install squeezecenter/stable
answered yes to the warning about downgradin
thanks, looks like that solved it. I had though SC7 included the needed
mysql files.

This means you need to install mysqld which I think is in a package
called mysql-server on CC. I also think you can install the mysql
server from the CC web GUI.

I hit the same issue and just did a force install to get around it.
Not sure if that's ideal or not, but it worked.

Unfortunately, it looks like something will need to be changed to fix
the SqueezeCenter 7.0 release package to make Debian updates work
properly.
My version:

Of course the version in the stable repo is:

I am currently running a nightly build 17788, and now that I see things
are final, I am trying to figure out how/if I need to upgrade to that.
I edited my sources.list to "stable main" from "testing main" but
apt-get says there are no updates.
