I am running squeezecenter 7.1 - 21902 on Ubuntu 8.04. I am tying to
listen to sirius (the version that runs through SqueezeNetwork, not the
plugin) though softsq
External drives in Ubuntu will likely be mounted at login due to the way
automatic mounting works. Since Squeezecenter starts at boot, you will
either have to restart squeezecenter after the external drive is
mounted on /media, or you will need to setup the mount configuration in
/etc/fstab.

Have you mounted the drive like this? for example:
mount -t ext3 /dev/sda1 /mnt/external
This is how I would mount partition sda1 under a folder called
/mnt/external, assuming the drive is formatted as ext3. I can then
browse to this in settings on squeezecentre. The drive shouldn't nee

After a few set-up issues (helped through by this & the Ubuntu forum) I
have got music streaming to my duet from Ubuntu (Hardy) and it sounds
