I've just done a clean install of squeezecenter-server on Hardy. Got
some complaints about missing CPAN modules and fixed those, but am
still unable to startup the server. The following happens:
> ./squeezecenter-server
modules.conf not found at /usr/share/perl5/Slim/bootstrap.pm line 332.

All your script should have to do is call "init 0". You would have to
ensure that the script runs with permissions that allow it to execute
the command.

SAMBA works great. My music and squeezecenter are hosted on a Linux
box. I do all of my ripping/tagging on an XP machine connected to the
network. I even have iTunes access the files via a network share to my
Linux box.
It is pretty easy to set up, works wonderfully, and is very stable.

Yes, samba hides all the geeky details.
Your windows users just see it as a normal Windows share, drag and drop

I'm running Ubuntu, and I want to be able to shut down my computer using
the ExecuteScripts plugin (which I have installed). I know there are a
number of threads about using ExecuteScripts, but none of them have the
actual shutdown scripts :/
Thanks in advance :)

Normally it will bind to all interfaces, you could just firewall the
interface you don't want it to listen to.
Otherwise try the bindAddress line in
/var/lib/squeezecenter/prefs/server.prefs (if you're installing from
the Ubuntu package)

hi folks,
I have a machine that I am turning into a file server. The machine has
a kubuntu 80Gb boot disc and a 500Gb storage disc. I occasionally
connect a windowsXP drive on this machine.
This machine is on a home wired network and the kids have windows xp

Hey all,
Second question from me - I have a SC installation on a hosted server,
the server has two IP addresses assigned and I would like to control
which IP SC uses for it's web interface. This will allow me to separate
the access controls from my main website ... how do I tell the SC binary

Sorry all - looks like I'm being dim ... the option is under Settings
--> Advanced --> Security (!) .. sorry I didn't see the drop down list
under the Advanced Tab.
I have another question but I'll raise it in a separate thread.
Thanks all,
Chris

So there is definitely no simple way to control access to the interface
by a simple username and password option?? from what it looks like I
can only control access via "known hosts".
