Ubuntu is a fine choice. I run SqueezeCenter on an old PC for my parents squeezebox. It's just a P3-500 with 128MB ram. It runs without a GUI, so it's only a bit slow (uses a tiny bit of swap regularly). But it's fine via the remote interface. This is probably the minimum requirement for a de

I believe the PVR-150 (and dual-tuner PVR-500) are still workhorses in the MythTV world. Check ivtvdriver.org for updates, but I expect it's still well supported. Probably having an older card is better than a newer one, as normally the driver support lags a bit behind hardware vendors' chipset ch

I think the plugin as posted work with Slimserver 6.x - it needs to be updated to work with current SC version 7.x. At a low priority, I am working on a similar plugin which handle Tuner cards (any which use V4L not just Hauppauge PVR's) with standard s/w (i.e. no need to build special app). So

In the Fedora firewall. I'm not running Fedora right now, but there should a menu item called Firewall Configuration or something similar. That will let you either open the necessary ports or just turn it off. -- Fletch

Fedora 9 enables the firewall by default. SC uses the following: 9000/tcp 3483/tcp 3483/udp Either turn off the firewall or open those ports. If you installed from the RPM, it should work fine with SELinux enabled. -- Fletch --
