As for upgrading squeezecenter 7.3 to squeezeboxserver 7.4
I would suggest total removal of 7.3 including its prefs cache etc and
a completely clean install of 7.4 .
Historically migration of the software on all platforms but especially
linux has not worked well.

You don't have to upgrade to use 7.4.1 or 7.4.2. I don't have a radio,
but I have no problem with 7.4.2 on 9.04. Just use these instructions:

If you have a look in the Ubuntu software center there is a package
called Ubuntu restricted extras, it contains bits and bobs they can't
include by default.
