Hi Honva,
Many thanks for sharing the info.
The PSU was coming with the case and this was keeping my attention from
the first day.
It is very noisy, quite hot and has fan working full speed all the
time. No efficiency label on it found so far.
and BTW - I've replaced the North Bridge cooler and f
After I found SoftSqueeze.jar, I ran it from a terminal, and got the
same behavior, but I did learn more.
What I am seeing is that if I am playing a song, and then hit "pause" -
(the two vertical line symbol) - then click on another song and hit
"play" -(the right arrow) softsqueeze will show the

The firmware version on the remote is 7.4.1 r7915, and the installed

First up, sorry for my bad english
I have had many problems with my squeezebox on ubuntu 9.10. I have
installed the squeezeboxserver 7.4.2 and mySQL 5.1. This installation is
fine, but i am only able to use the internet radio from my duet remote.
I can not get a connection to my music folder. Whe
i think your measurement isn't too far off. Some rough numbers CPU 8W,
non-mobile G945 Chipset 8W, memory 4W, drives spinned down 6w, cpu fan
1W, PSU fan 1W. Total 28W
Which PSU do you use? Does it provide ATX plug? or does it provide 12V
and a voltage converter? What is the rating (in watts) of

Atom does not have posibility to reduce CPU frequency
Ok, testing with my production machine:
MSI 945GM1, Intel Core 2 Duo Mobile Processor T5500 1.66GHz 2MB CPU,
OEM
2 gigs DDR2 667 Ram
2 x gigabit ethernet
1 x 7200rpm 60gig Hitachi 2.5" PATA drive
1 x 7200rpm 1T Seagate SATAII drive
1 x 5900rpm 2T Seagate SATAII drive
Some kind of InWin case.

I've seen some people are using Intel Atom 330 based boxes.
what is actual configuration and power consumption?
I have read a lot of posts about the consumption on 30W level.
My box has Intel D945GCLF2 MB with Atom 330 + 2G + 2x1GHDD
with SUSE 11.0 on it
it consumes in average 55-65W out of the w
The version numebr is a bit misleading - for 7.4.X I had to update
plugin the the plugin is 3.9b2 but Softsqueeze didn't need a change so
it remained at 3.9b1. I had hoped to do some work on Softsqueeze and get
them synced but it hasn't been possible.
