Run squeezelite with -l to get a list of output devices, then try each
in turn with the -o opt
Re volume levels. The new image includes alsa utils - it is worth
checking whether this impacts any hardware volume level with alsamixer.

Triode,
the R Pi+ with the HiFiBerry DAC+ now restarts perfectly after either a
graceful shutdown or a "pull the plug" power down. (Well, it has

I don't know how to select the output device, so it may be going through

I did make an image for you guys. I'll upload it now to somewhere you
can get at it. It's just Steens official 1.18b image with the 8192cu
kernel module re-compiled with CONFIG_LED undefined. Not

Just comment the line which begins "#define CONFIG_LED". ie put "//" at

SoA installer images have been updated to hopefully avoid the IP address
changing on final reboot. Please test and post feedback here.

That's fine, thanks for taking the time to respond (and for your
previous testing).
@Jesper: You're the man, thanks you are still trying to figure this out!

If I look at the /etc/dhcpcd.conf

I'm wondering if these should be changed (deactivated) for testing.
Especially this duid option might be
