I tried doing something similar with pikeyd by the way, but did not succeed. I took the source code from dozencrows, https://github.com/dozencrows/pikeyd and changed joy_RPi.c to reflect the new GPIO_PERI_BASE address (0x3f00 instead of 0x2000). Recompiled the code and put it back in pikey
