I have it as an App in mySB and always have so I haven't noticed any

Seems that I've found the reason. Appearently, in-situ updating from
3.20 to 3.21 has changed the output settings of Squeezelite. The Pi with
the USB soundcard had still "USB Audio" in the Audio Output field, but
the Output setting field was empty. I selected the option I used before
with 3.20

it seems that after updating two Pis from 3.20 to 3.21, I'm not able to
get Shairport working again: the players simply don't show up any longer
in the list of available Airplay devices on an iPad/iPhone, nor are they
listed among the discovered players in the Airplay bridge
