Ah, ok, I misunderstood - different approach. That's to stop
Squeezeplay altogether, not just the player part.

I'm finally back from all my travels and I saw ralphy has completed the
OS X 3.9.2 build which fixes the display problem.

Hmmm - it's not -quite- there. If I switch players the 'whenoff'
screensaver seems to continue to respond to the power state of the
previous player, but oddly it responds to the 'whenstopped' state of the
new player. If I cycle the power on the new player then the 'whenoff'
screensaver seems to
