It depends on what version your board came with. The vl805 firmware
specifically is updated to lower temperatures.

You could boot your RPi4 from recent Raspbian and do a
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get upgrade
and reboot (if it does not)
and I think you will then get the new firmware for the RPi4
Then you can boot again from pCP and you might find that it runs

I would just like to say thanks guys. Great job! I installed Beta 6 on
my RPI4 and it runs perfectly. I am using an aluminium heat-sink case
and it runs at around 46C, although I am under-clocking it.

Depending on where you got your board from, it may not have the latest
firmware. I just checked, and RPI has moved the VLI chipset update to
critical status.
You can update using pCP, but you need to follow these instructions.

Running fine in 32bit mode :)
The pCP image does not have a 64bit kernel for the pi3B+. I don't plan
on supporting that either.

All my trackstat data has been restored corretly. All my plugins is
working perfectly, inclusive Radio Paradise FLAC streaming and Podcasts,
which did not work anymore on my my ReadyNas version of LMS.
