I've just installed picoreplayer on a pi zero w to work with my original squeezebox. I just threw a few albums onto an old 8gb usb stick to test it out and it connects up fine. I'd forgotten just how lovely the Squeezebox is actually! I have a couple of questions though. The performance is a l

A bigger USB stick won’t make any difference to the speed. My guess is that what is happening is that the first track that you play takes some time because RPi Zero is relatively slow and maybe the USB stick as well but subsequent tracks play without delay because tracks are preloaded by LMS befor

Ronnie, That would happen if the network was not setup when LMS starts, but those checks were added along time ago. Your system clearly gets an IP address from the DHCP server, before LMS starts. Is there something else potentially blocking the network communication? There is nothing in the

I used to run LMS on the lite version of Raspbian, I now now use the Desktop Image https://downloads.raspberrypi.org/raspbian_latest this has the advantage on a VNC server which allows easy remote access and card cloning. If LMS is installed correctly it should start when you power up the pi.
