Initially my post had a typo, I do a complete scan on 10,000 tracks on a
pi4 in 4 minutes, so unless you have 150,000 files (possible), it
shouldnt take over an hour on a pi4
I have my files on an attached USB drive, and I created a directory for
the files (/mnt/MUSIC/FLAC) and a dir for my scri
My scan times were roughly halved going from a Rpi3 to Rpi4, no doubt
assisted by the GigE i/f being able to be fully utilised (media library
on a server). I also set Database Memory Config to Max.
LMS 7.9.3 (1.5h) is also faster than 8.0 (2h). YMMV.

Thanks everyone. copied my prefs and installed a newer server.

I don't think it was my Tweaks.
It looks like it is the startup of Jivelite that does it.
Fresh install of pCP 6 - LMS installed but not configured and no
Tweaks.

CEC interaction between TV and amp is straightforward, however when
external devices come into play things get more complicated.
