There are actually two pCP
Never mind - I found the line in the Announce thread about ALAC being
broken in the published image. As instructed a "Full Update" of
Squeezelite from the main page and a reboot fixed it. Nothing to see
here :-P

Hi -
I have an otherwise working piCorePlayer 7.0.0 / Squeezelite / LMS
setup, freshly installed today.
I have some of my music as purchased downloads on a network share - and
there's one record that consistently causes Squeezelite to abort. The
file info is like this example:

Did you reboot after removing the network cable?
I believe Squeezelite/LMS uses the MAC address to create a unique player
on LMS.

I tryed to set (server.memory) logging to debug to find out the cause of
the memory leak but I get:
Slim::bootstrap::tryModuleLoad (286) Warning: Module
[Slim::Utils::MemoryUsage] failed to load:
You'll need to install Devel::NYTProf for your Perl. And then run with
above parameter. Please
@mherger -- a rock solid 130MBit/s VDFE link.
What does VDFE mean? I mentioned German cable internet because we've had
reports of users with some of them (don't remember the name, but
basically THE German cable provider) having problems accessing the pCP
repository. We never figured out why,
Some new information. I've since booted the device with an ethernet
cable attached and it now has two IPs (one for wired and one for
wireless). Everything looks fine while accessing the wireless IP so, I
remove the cable. Some time later, a dropout again. No pinging the
wireless IP, despite the
LMS should not matter muchunless you are streaming radio feeds.
There have been lots of issues around ALAC and MP4 with LMS8.0.0
LMS would also not have anything to do with mixer controls.

You have:

I too am having problems getting files from the servers. This morning I
was able to do and 'in-situ' update (6.1 to 7.0) on one of my
piCorePlayers, (pi 3b). But this afternoon, whilst trying to update a
second piCorePlayer (running LMS), all I get is -error retrieving

Hi Paul,
thanks for looking into this!
I have just rebooted pCP with my NAS (from where I mount the shares)
still in its boot phase.
Here's the log file: /var/log/33225
I have currently configured my shares using CIFS (just for testing
purposes).
Originally, I was using NFS but that did not
Slowly unpicking things ...
I rebuilt sdltest and modified the make file to use local include files
- and this changed things a bit.
Instead of seeing it reporting a scancode of 0 for the media keys it is
now showing a non-zero number.
So - more on what I found.

I usually save and then restore the original state.
I noticed the shaky behavior early on when downloading e.g. compiletc
with all its dependencies.
A 2nd try usually solved it.
But currently it's pretty much
Check there are no file remnants before trying again.
