You have syntax slightly the wrong way round. It should be
rsync -ravz --partial /mnt/WDElements/Users/Edward/ /mnt/backup/Users/Edward
The trailing / on the source parameter means copy the contents of the
directory, rather the the actual directory.

Yes thats true. However if you want your rPi with LMS to be connected
via ethernet to your router, and y
Hi Paul,
thanks for the reply, I'd never spotted that page and it worked well

I've just attached another harddrive to my pCP and mounted it. I want

All files are either flac regualar CDs, flac DVD-A, flac bluray Audio or
dsf from SACDs. I have to picorePlayers with touchscreens/Jivelite. One
of them works no problem. The other, everything works with the exception
of the VU Meter needle not moving.

It have no idea too, but I will offer a suggestion. Check the logs in
your router for something that might help identify the issue. Perhaps
it is not renewing the IP address lease?

There is nothing within pCP that "Downs" the ethernet interface. Even
if the cable comes unplugged.just plug it back in, and it will be
fine.

I have no real idea of how to solve this conundrum:confused:, but that
won't stop me making some suggestions :):p
In any order:
Change the Ethernet cable / try using wireless on the pi
Download a fresh image and burn it again
Make a cron job to restart the pi (or LMS) periodically
Connect th
So, a little thing I missed:
the eth0 can be brought back up with *sudo ifconfig eth0 up*
But this still leaves the actual problem unsolved: why is the connection
lost every day?

My setup is as follows:
I have LMS with my music collection on my home server.
I have a raspberry pi 3b+ with piCorePlayer connected to my LAN via
cabled connection (same subnet as LMS server).
Audio output is via USB cable to a pair of Airpulse A300PRO speakers.
This setup works as expected, ex

What is the format of the music tracks?
AFAIK not all formats are supported by the VU Meter, e.g. DSD.
I can imagine that LMS might transcode the signal for the coax pCP but
uses the original signal for the USB pCP.
