omplains about no DNS servers. Name resolution
works fine. Maybe it's trying to ping the servers in /etc/resolv?
That would fail, since Solaris puts ping in /usr/sbin. I'll fiddle
with the path and see if that's it.

Digest problem is the root cause here, or if that
is just a warning and the rest of the lines are dying for other
reasons.

built it for Sun's perl (5.8.4) and not for blastwave's perl (5.8.8).
So I just need to build all the other slimserver prerequisites for
Sun's perl before before I know whether that gets me any closer to a
working slim
what you said, it sounds like I need Sun's CC to build
this module. Or find a way to get Makefile.PL to build me a
gcc-compatible Makefile. I think I have Sun's CC on a developer DVD
here somewhere...

mysql yet. This problem seems more fundamental. I have the required
perl modules installed, but slimserver is looking for a particular
piece of YAML::Syck that I don't have (Dump.al
I think it is
"/tmp/slimserver.log" by default. Look for any clues as to what could
be wrong, or what other port it may have bound to.
