I ran into the same problem in that squeelite won't start for the digi2
board. As I'm a bit time squeezed at the moment I tried the hifiberry os
as suggested here and it does work. It's not as snappy, or even remotely
as configurable as pcp, but it does work on a pi4.
However I suspect the next
Hi, I've just got the above hat for a new Pi4, pcp loads ok. I go to
squeezelite settings and go for the digi + pro setting. Unfortunately
then squeezelite does not start.
Basically what am I doing wrong, and where can I find a relevant log?
Have tried many reboots with no luck thus far.

I'm using 7.9.4 - for quite some time now.
That makes a degree of sense, which leads to the next question - how
would I find out where the metadata is hiding? Pretty much all of my
files are ripped with dbpoweramp and fettled in tag & rename. I've been

HI - I moved up to 6.1 11 days ago, with no difficulty whatsoever. I
migrated the setting (iec958:CARD=S6th,DEV=0) from the 5.00 output
setting and it has worked for 9 days. The DAC is a SMSL Sanskrit 6
Now squeezelite refuses to start with the old setting.
I've tried all the settings and

Once again updates insitu with only one issue which was easily resolved
by visiting here:

Once I'd remembered where the DAC settings where hidden it all worked
again.
Just a short note to say many thanks, from a standing start I've got
picore and LMS running on a P3 and talking to a SMSL Sanskrit USB DAC.
Very happy with the sound of this, and sync to boot.
Hmm, screen next...?
