After not looking this for a long time I've repeated the initial

Should be possible in theory.
I know I can send bluetooth audio from a phone to a Windows PC and then
play it on that PC speakers. There is also an (possibly outdated)
plugin that allows you to take PC audio and channel it to the logitech
media server. (WaveInput). I'm assuming one of the RPi
Yes you should be able to do it in the gui on ubuntu via nautilus.
Nautilus is the file explorer tool. Right click on your music folder
and select properties I think. Change permissions to ensure it works.
The last permission should be the one. It should have at least read

Thanks Triode. Won't get a chance to play with this for a while.

Running Ubuntu 12.10 amd64 if that makes a difference? The only thing I
can rebuild I think is the luajit instructions you had
It comes up on my pc now.

I'd like something like this. Screen layout should be different than
squeezeplay.
I'd probably use it as only a now playing screen. For me it would run on
a seperate PC from player or server. I want a now playing screen that's
clean/dark and with hidden controls.

I'd reinstall if I were you. Sounds like something went wrong with your
installation.
I used the following guide:
http://www.havetheknowhow.com/Install-the-software/Install-Squeezebox-server.html
Note that one ubuntu you can replace the "sudo vim
/etc/apt/sources.list" with "sudo gedit /etc/apt

Haven't seen anything yet on Win7.

I retested this and the error remained for a bit but then just went

Getting distortion on louder portions of some tracks on 1.0rc2.
Not seeing that on SqueezePlay on same tracks. Don't think it was on
previous squeezelite either. Can't check because I overwrote it, and
previous versions are not available in your download section.
Runing Win 7.

Might be a stupid question what does the -z option do? I guess it's only
available on linux.

Running an old AMD system. Not sure if it makes a difference but
compiled on this system. I think the Local Player plugin tries to
install x86 version which didn't seem to work. I attach the compiled
file below. Code as per the google code page about 15 min ago.

2 options:
1) Leave HD attached to touch. Download squeezeplay for linux. Search
threads. Use it to control the Touch. (Probably most android iphone
apps will also work). They need to be connected to the same router via
wifi or ethernet.
2) Connect HD to laptop and install LMS server on it. T
Great tool. Running on ubuntu 12.10 (amd64). It's my server pc that
stores my music and also runs LMS.
I've compiled it on my amd64. First time compiling something for me.
Just git cloned the code and ran make.
The i386 build also works (I guess it uses ia32-libs) but it complains
about faad.
ange error apparently but confirmed
install bug!
Already repartitioned (hoping the XP partition is still there and not
gone...)
Will press on.
Thanks for offers of help, will gladly take them up.

Syncing doesn't work at all for me but some people says it works on
linux.
4) SoftSqueeze
I have no idea if this works on a netbook\linux. Support going forward
is also problematic. Have not used it recently either.

Are you trying to listen to music on the netbook or control your boom?
Or both?

Don't know the player but with most players that can play online
streaming radio you can tune into:
http:\\ipaddress:9000\stream.mp3
ipaddress=ip address of the PC running the squeezebox server.
