How do you know LMS is running ?

Carbon Copy Cloner on a mac can sync between a mac and networked drive.
In my case, from my iTunes folder on my mac direct to the USB disk
attached to my LMS server. The USB disk being shared by the LMS server
using samba.

Bumping this thread as LMS has a new dependency.

Although it does allow for service discovery, with port numbers, for
example a pointer to an http/html based "Set up page" on a printer.

I hope they're resolved. I am contemplating pCP as a next step over the

I bet it would have cost more if he'd been wearing a ˇCaronˇ

You could investigate at the OS level by logging in to each Pi (ssh) and
comparing file listings of the shared drive obtained with the 'ls'
command.

Well, I don't know which is your first system, nor what it would be

I suppose you have the same version of LMS on both ? Another potential
source of different behaviour.

I twigged after posting. As you say, it will depend on what an
individual plugin does.

On reflection, I realize that what is being referred to is mDNS

I can remark that this works fine from an lxc container provided

It's not actually a dependency of LMS, which is why it never went into
the dependency list. And I wasn't using the ShairTune plugin at the
time.
Maybe there's a case for adding the dependen

There is no support for perl v5.32 in LMS at present.
Will Manjaro allow you to install perl v5.30 in place of perl v5.32 ?
Might help to know what version of perl is installed:
Code:
perl --version

Debian 9 gives you perl 5.24. LMS seems to have x32 binaries for that,
and, yes, LMS works fine on Debian 9.

Heres how I install a downloaded LogitechMediaServer Debian deb
package on a Debian-like system:

Have you inadvertently mucked around with
-/usr/sbin/squeezeboxserver_safe- or -/etc/init.d/logitechmediaserver-
or something else ?
This makes no sense to me:

I find that if I wait for a few seconds ( 3 ?, 5 ? ) after stopping,
then any "stray" processes will clear themselves out.

Not really.
Perhaps there are two problems:
The -server.log- indicates some kind of issue when full text scanning.
It might be worth stopping LMS and deleting

again.
The -syslog- su

The Debian package builds (.debs) have recently been updated to declare
some additional dependencies on external packages.
This may cause some initial difficulty for those users who use -dpkg- to
install LMS. Users who use -apt-get-, or a similar package manager,
should experience no issues, as t
