Have you tried using MySQL Administrator? It's a nice GUI application and it allows you to do many things if, like me, you are somewhat CLI challenged. There are many aspects of mysql tuning that would take me forever to accomplish without this tool. I have my music server (Fedora 8) installed

What port are you trying to connect on? I'm not sure of how Infrant is implementing SqueezeCenter these days, but usually the SqueezeCenter mysql port is 9092. Also, I think that it's my.tt you need to configure, not my.cnf (which gets recreated based on my.tt every time the service starts.) I'

You would need to edit the mysql server config on the ReadyNAS to allow access via TCP/IP. It shouldn't be very hard, but would require you enable ssh access on the ReadyNAS and fiddle with some config files. Once you have IP access turned on in the mysql config, restart the server and you can u

Hi there, thanks for replying, the ReadyNAS is a NAS device which has an embedded version of Linux ( Debian based I think ) so I can't install any packages, I think what I'm looking for , is a client to install on my Fedora box which can connect to the slimserver database on the NAS box regards
